Providing sanitary products in the workplace to improve the working environment for female employees
Dec. 4, 2024
Since 1 November 2024, Shindengen Electric Manufacturing has provided sanitary napkins in the women's restroom at the Asaka Office, where 90% of our employees work.
Our company is developing human resource strategies based on the “Promotion of Human Resource Management” set out in the 16th Management Plan and is working to create an environment where a diverse range of human resources can play an active role. As part of this, we have decided to implement “Laurier in Workplace”, a proposal from Kao Corporation's sanitary product brand Laurier, and from 1 November 2024, sanitary napkins have been provided. With the aim of creating an environment where female employees can work with vitality, reducing their worries and concerns about menstruation, we will gradually implement this in all of our branches and sales offices.
At our company, we have a diverse range of working styles that allow men and women to play active roles, and in order to increase the number of female employees and expand their opportunities, we have established a leave system and childcare and health management hours for the health management of employees before and after childbirth, and we also encourage male employees to take childcare leave.
“Laurier in Workplace” is an initiative proposed by Kao Corporation's Laurier sanitary product brand, aiming to have sanitary products installed in company offices and other places, so that companies can provide sanitary products and other items as employee welfare benefits.
